Families, volunteers and staff walk the extra mile for Home-Start Aberdeen

Home-Start Aberdeen boasted an 18-strong turn-out at this year’s Aberdeen Kilt Walk on Sunday 4th June, staff, volunteers and families took on either the 18-mile ‘Mighty Stride’ from Aberdeen to Banchory, or the 4-mile ‘Wee Wander’ from Crathes Castle to Banchory. A record-breaking 3,500 Kiltwalk heroes stepped out for 400 charities at the weekend, in the biggest Aberdeen Kiltwalk to date.
“It was wonderful to be a part of the Kiltwalk alongside thousands of others walking to raise funds for causes close to their hearts,” explains Home-Start Aberdeen’s Chief Executive, Eleanor McEwan, who completed the 18-mile challenge in 6 hours “The current cost of living crisis has left more families struggling to cope, so it was fantastic to have such a strong representation from Home-Start Aberdeen, and we were delighted to collectively raise over £1,000 – every penny of which will go towards our charity, in addition to the Gift Aid which can boost the totals by 25%. I’d like to congratulate our whole team, from staff and volunteers to the kids who took on the Wee Wander – a great achievement for such an important cause.”
