Trustee

Home-Start Aberdeen works with local families, many of whom have complex needs, and our vision is for every child in our area to have the best possible start in life.

Home-Start Aberdeen has supported families across the city for more than 35 years. We want to deliver support for another 35 and beyond, but that depends on us having strong and effective governance to lead the charity.

Our board of trustees, all volunteers from different backgrounds, provide direction and support to our team of staff and volunteers.

Trustees meet four times a year in the evening with a separate six-monthly review of strategy. Trustees work closely with the Chief Executive and staff team to deliver on Home-Start Aberdeen’s strategies and objectives.

Trustees are fully inducted and have access to Home-Start’s intranet, e-learning and webinars. They are supported by specialist staff at Home-Start UK and local organisations like ACVO. Trustees can also be fully reimbursed for expenses incurred in their capacity as a trustee.
