Home-visiting
Our volunteer-led home-visiting support service is free and unique in Aberdeen.
We recruit and train volunteers – who are usually parents themselves – to visit local families in their own homes.
Your family will be carefully matched with a volunteer whose skills and experience best fit your own situation and challenges. Your volunteer will offer informal, friendly and confidential support.
Your Home-Start Aberdeen volunteer will visit your family on a weekly basis to provide friendly, practical and confidential support.
This support may include:
- building your confidence as a parent.
- supporting your family’s physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.
- helping you to build connections with other families and explore your community.
- encouraging you to be involved in your child’s early learning and development.
- accompanying you to appointments
- helping you to set and maintain healthy routines and boundaries.
Home-Start has done more for me than any other agency, they are amazing. My volunteer is perfect and having the support is brilliant.
